Club KT fosters community

Newstead’s running community is thriving thanks to Club KT, a run club that is much more than running.

Founded by coach Katie Dall during the Covid-19 pandemic, Club KT was created to offer inclusive, community-based outdoor fitness opportunities.

What began as a way to keep people active during challenging times has grown into a vibrant group where connection and wellbeing are just as important as exercise.

For Ms Dall, the success of Club KT reflects a simple belief: there is power in collaboration, and running together makes the journey all the more rewarding.

“For me, Club KT is about more than fitness. It is about building a supportive, diverse community where people gain confidence, connection and a sense of belonging,” she said.

“Through running, we show that movement strengthens both the body and the mind.”

Club KT welcomes all abilities, with no prior fitness experience required and participants can choose from a range of sessions throughout the week.

Some runs finish with a shared meal, such as a 5K along the river followed by dinner at Fishbowl in Newstead, while others end in a social setting, like a beer at Felons after an evening jog by the water.

More than fitness, the club gives members a genuine sense of fulfilment, community and fun.

Every session is free to join, keeping accessibility at the heart of the program.
