Basketball/netball facility:
There is a basketball / netball half court near the library, consisting of a hoop and keyway. It is open 24/7 and no booking is needed. Simply bring a ball and you can start the competition with your friends!
Geoff Masters Tennis Courts
New Farm Tennis is open for public hire, parties, and corporate events, 7 days a week, managed by the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre. For all bookings and enquiries call 0422 940 132 or email: tennisvision1@gmail.com.
Locals have been enjoying these fantastic courts for years, named in honour of the Brisbane-born tennis great, Geoff Masters – now the secret’s out and they are available for hire every day. Catch up with friends for a social game, ideal for those long summer evenings, or meet your regular opponents and get the blood pumping over a few quick sets during the day. They also offer coaching and fixtures programs.
Are you interested in a free game? Communify offers free community tennis for all ages and experience levels. Equipment provided or bring your own. Sessions are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 10:30am – 1pm. Individuals only please, no groups. To book in just phone 3358 5600.
Court Hire cost: $18/hr before 5pm. $24/hr from 5pm onwards. Income generated from these courts helps supports the work of the New Farm Neighbourhood Centre.
The courts are located on the northern edge of the park, near the children’s playground. Access is via Sydney St or Hopetoun Way, New Farm.
Soccer oval (leased):
It consists of a full-sized playing pitch leased to the New Farm United Soccer Club. It holds training and competitive matches.
New Farm United (soccer) clubhouse and football fields
Found as a junior club in 1986 and has been part of the community, bringing football lovers of all ages together. Competing in different levels from tiny tots to capital league. New Farm Park fields is home to the Red and Green.

Croquet lawns:
The Merthyr Croquet Club is located beside the park, next to the tennis courts. The croquet lawns are host to regular club games, including Club Member Play Days, their Golf Pennants Team, the Club Golf Croquet Championship, the Councillors Cup, and Association Croquet Pennants. Stay tuned to the club schedule as they welcome everyone to the croquet family.
Their clubhouse can be hired for community groups to host their gatherings, and members of the public are invited to make bookings for corporate, community or family functions.
