Run club welcomes all

Run club welcomes all

In the opinion of Felons Brewing Co.’s General Manager Jimmie Gold, a runner’s high will get you the same buzz as a few beers by the river – and you can do both at the free Felons Run Club.
“We get the same effect from sending people out for a 5km run as we do on a Friday night when people start getting really chatty and social with strangers,” Mr Gold said.
Mr Gold, an avid runner himself, asked his friend, personal trainer and running coach Katie Dall, to host the club in July 2024.
Felons Run Club is open to people of all fitness levels, and participants are welcome to walk or run all or part of the 5km route and stay to socialise afterward, with cloakroom facilities available.
“My ‘why’ is bringing people together… I used to think it was getting people healthier and fitter, but bring people together is what I love the most,” Ms Dall said.
“Come as you are… You don’t need to be a runner, just come and walk, and you’ll probably be inspired to run.”
They meet under the Story Bridge at 6.30am Saturday mornings, followed by breakfast service, and 5.45pm Wednesday afternoons, followed by a finish-line refreshment of kombucha or beer compliments of Felons.
