New Farm Library

The New Farm Library features a variety of facilities and services, as well as plenty of activities and events each week. This library is wheelchair accessible, provides free Wi-Fi, and has community meeting rooms available for hire, including access to a kitchenette. There are Chinese and Italian collections, as well as Gay and Lesbian collections available.

The library also has a 24/7 library locker and an after-hours chute, allowing you to return and collect books outside of opening hours. It is closed on Mondays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Brisbane Powerhouse

A 1920s power station has been reborn as Queensland’s home of contemporary art and culture located beside the Brisbane River. It features two main stage theatres, three smaller performance venues, gallery, three eateries, corporate facilities, and river views. It holds events like Brisbane Comedy Festival, Melt Open, and Night Feast, among many others.

New Farm Neighbourhood Centre

New Farm Neighbourhood Centre is a community centre offering free assistance and providing a range of social activities and events. You’re welcome to use the kitchen, laundry, showers, and computers or just to drop by for a chat.

They run an Open House program on Tuesdays and Thursday to provide drop-in emergency relief services and community programs, and the centre runs group activities on the other weekdays. They also run a coffee cart which serves the wider community, selling fresh Merlo coffee to passers-by and visitors, allowing them to fund free coffee to those who need a hand.
