Epic Walk for DV expands

By Joshua McIntosh
The Epic Walk for Domestic Violence is expanding across the state this year, with simultaneous walks in Arlie Beach and Brisbane.
This year’s walks will take place on Sunday, March 30 to raise money for the Women’s Legal Service Queensland (WLSQ).
WLSQ provides free legal support to women and children affected by domestic and family violence.
The New Farm walk will start at New Farm Park River Front near the Ferry Terminal and will be a five-kilometre loop to Teneriffe and back.
Last year the event raised $190,000 for the legal service, and organisers Brendon Mann and Brendan Smith have set a target for $300,000 in 2025.
Registration costs $24 and kids walk free, including complimentary breakfast and water as well as an Epic Walk for DV shirt – sign up at www.epicwalkfordv.com.au.
2025 will be the fourth instalment of the walk, with prizes to be won for the largest fundraising individual and highest fundraising team.
