How to get there

New Farm Park is a five minute drive from the Brisbane CBD, 10 minutes on the number 196 bus or 15 minutes by CityCat.

The park is about a 20 minute bike ride using the RiverWalk from the CBD.

Opening Hours

The park gates officially open at 8.30am each day (sometimes earlier on weekends) and close at 11.00pm at night, with many people using the park outside of these hours.

A fantastic green space in the city, right next to the river. Easy commuter access via personal vehicle and/or public transport.The Rose Garden was amazing. All in bloom when we arrived. the visual aesthetics and fragrance on the senses was worth every minute walking the garden.Plenty of grassed area and beautiful shade trees abound for a picnic on a Queensland perfect day. Free BBQ's to cook up a storm.A wonderful playground for the kids which is close to a coffee vendor for a recharge and public amenities. Dotted around were park benches for a breather whilst you stroll around taking in the fresh air and green space beauty.Highly recommend this park to recharge your batteries and connect with some nature, within the city precinct, after a long working week.

Wow! I'd not been here in years. Really busy to find a park, but once you do.. so much space to make your own. Kids monster playground has gorgeous fig trees to play hide n seek, but a huge activity adventure play set. Lots for littlies and bigger kids alike.

Great big park, lots of people having a great time with a family friendly atmosphere. Plenty of space for everyone. The parking is difficult on a busy day unfortunately. But it's right on the river and a lovely place to spend time.

I live near this park and frequently walk through it. It's one of the best parks I've ever seen. It caters to so many. There are basketball courts, huge kids playground, coffee shop, picnic area, soccer fields, BBQ facilities, dog park, plus more. There is a ferry terminal at new farm park and bus 199 and 196 go there. On Saturdays we have a market from 6am - 12pm.These photos are from a picnic we did in new farm park. You can hire this set up through various companies nowadays.

Beautiful and peaceful park right on the Brisbane River. New farm park is very well maintained by Brisbane City Council and the flower beds and surrounding areas make for a great place for a picnic. Free electric BBQ's are spread around and plentiful. And all so close to cafes, restaurants and shopping. There is also a city cat ferry terminal there.

Must visit place for short term travellers, if looking for relaxing warm and welcoming environment. Equally good for families as lot of space and surrounded by cafes, shops all around plus very commutable.Sit,play,relax - have a BBQ. Very friendly place. Lots of kids play equipments.As a bonus close to Library, with one of the friendliest staff in Brisbane. All In All ,Place time well spent for.

Great place to take children. Often very busy with picnickers. But great playground and BBQ facilities. Close to shops and ferry terminal. Well maintained toilets. Recommend getting public transport or riding in as parking can be a pain.

Awesome park. Kids play ground, beautiful trees, flowers and gardens, Sports fields, bbq's, plenty of space. Runs down to the river. Power house building. Function areas. Very nice.

Huge park with shaded areas. In every shaded areas, there's a bench where you can sit and relax. A great place for picnics. There's a little playground for children. Biking is allowed. Dog-friendly place.

Lovely park on the river. Plenty of nice shady trees. Cool spot in summer and the roses are just magnificent! Plenty of BBQ areas and play areas for children. Highly recommended!

Super popular for a reason! Amazing shady play areas and heaps of other fun stuff close by. Best to get there early if travelling by car as it can be tough to get a spot to park otherwise.

Beautiful park. I have always enjoyed coming here with friends and family. Very large grass area to play ball games. Child friendly playgrounds for kids. Perfect place for a picnic or BBQ.

What a lovely place to spend an afternoon with friends and family or just a solo walk or rest. There was a great band playing in the Rotunda whilst we were there and there were Food trucks where you could buy Italian Street Food, Indian and many other cuisines. Lots of room for different parties. Lovely flowers being planted around the grounds. If you are in Brisbane and want to get away from it all - this is it! Right next to the river too.

One of the best parks in all Brisbane. Huge area of lush Parkland trees benches and Riverside , as well as some small cafes. Very family friendly with a lot of shade for kids to play Under. Very spacious to play some Team games. You can also bring your small picnic and have a nice alfresco breakfast in the park. Definitely make sure to visit the Powerhouse which is now arts and theatrical performances space. Deal so have nice bar and restaurant where you can dine in after seeing some art and cabaret shows.

Always a great open enjoyable oasis in the city. Nice big green space by the water with some shady spots, barbeques, park benches, toilets, play ground, and often a coffee van all within the park. Usually can get a park but sunny summer Sundays can be quite busy.

Absolutely awesome park!! A bit of everything for everyone, especially the parents and kids! Just the playground alone is exciting for me. Very spacious, beautiful tees and garden across. You can lay around reading a book on a lazy Sunday, or a picnic with friends. There's also a BBQ area and tennis court. Can't wait to bring the kids!

Such a great place to bring the kids. The playground is suitable for children of all ages. Public transport is within walking distance. Very scenic. Loved it.
